Cowboy Mouth - Jenny Says

Today's Video Clip - Cowboy Mouth is a rock band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their name was taken from the title of a play co-written (and acted) by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith, although the phrase was used five years prior to the play by Bob Dylan in the song "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands". The nucleus of the band formed in the 1990s, and they have become a powerhouse live act whose performances have been likened to "a religious experience."

Today's Video Clip - Modest Mouse has accrued significant mainstream success since being signed to Sony's Epic Records in 2000 and have been one of the leading bands in the popularization of indie rock, beginning with The Moon & Antarctica and Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which have been certified gold and platinum by the RIAA respectively. Elements of Modest Mouse's early sound have been likened to or inspired by that of Pixies and numerous other alternative rock and space rock bands.

The Specials - Ghost Town

Today's Video Clip - The Specials (sometimes called The Special AKA) are an English 2 Tone ska revival band formed in 1977 in Coventry, England. Their music combined a "danceable ska and rocksteady beat with punk's energy and attitude", and had a "more focused and informed political and social stance" than other ska groups. The band wore mod-style "1960s period rude boy outfits (pork pie hats, tonic and mohair suits, and loafers)." In 1981, the unemployment-themed single "Ghost Town" single also hit number one in the UK Singles Chart.

A3 - Woke Up This Morning

Today's Video Clip - Alabama 3 are a British band mixing rock, dance, blues, country, and gospel styles, founded in Brixton, London, in 1996. In the United States, they are known as A3, allegedly to avoid any possible legal conflict with the country music band Alabama. The group achieved international fame when the producers of hit TV series The Sopranos chose their track "Woke Up This Morning" for the show's opening credits.

Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue

Today's Video Clip - Eddy Grant had his first Number One hit in 1968, when he was the lead guitarist and main songwriter of the multiracial group The Equals, with his self-penned song "Baby Come Back". The tune also later topped the UK Singles Chart again when covered by Pato Banton. Notably, he openly used his songwriting for political purposes, especially against the then-current apartheid regime of South Africa. The Clash recorded a version of "Police On My Back" for their Sandinista! set, in the US he's best know for his best seller Electric Avenue.

The group formed in 1989 and achieved huge success across the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group managed to top the UK Singles Chart with their first three singles.
